The cover does show some wear. The inside is in very good condition. The inside cover page has a handwritten date from the original owner, Oct 6, '96. (1896). I was scanning through the book to get an idea of the storyline. Here is a great line about one of the main characters Paul de Lavardens: "He led the brilliant and miserable existence of the unoccupied."
