This book is about how Buffalo and Erie County people raised money, supported, and gave up many lives toward the WWI cause. The end chapter is a complete list of all the service members who served in WWI. Also listed are the Gold Star service members. The Gold Star symbol began during World War I. At the start of American involvement in 1917, families hung banners with blue stars representing family members in the services. The family changed the blue star to gold if the service member died in combat. The binding of this book has been taped. The front cover is loose but still attached to the spine. It has been opened many times. A great history book.
