Harper's Round Table was first published in 1879 as Harper's Young People, a weekly illustrated 16-page magazine that contained fiction and non-fiction works. It was advertised as appropriate for boys and girls ages six to 16. It was renamed Harper's Round Table and changed its target demographic to teenage boys beginning with volume XVI, number 809, at the end of April 1895. This listing is for the WEEKLY magazine. November 1897, the magazine became a monthly publication. I have a separate listing for the early Harper's Young People publication and a listing for the monthly Harper's Round Table publication.

These magazines are over 100 years old. The paper is mainly fragile around the edges. A little care is needed when turning the pages.
Many authors of the time published several chapters of their books in each issue as an incentive to continue buying the magazine and allow those who could not afford to purchase a book to read the stories. A bit of everything in each issue. Poems, fiction, non-fiction, games, puzzles, and more. There is a page for "Interscholastic Sport." Most of the print updated the elite private schools and the Ivy League Colleges and Universities. 12" X 8 1/2".
