Antique Chatillon's Improved Circular Spring Balance to Weigh 400 lb.. Very rare find. Many much smaller Chatillon scales out there. This one is very heavy. Brass front plate. Heavy iron back and attached links and indicator arrow. "Each 200 lb. is marked on the slide. The intermediate weights on the circle." 12 1/2" long (without top link hanger) X 7" across. Swivel hanger link on top. Removable S link on the bottom. There is a lead insert on the top left of the front plate. It reads J.C. & Sons. I can not read all the info on it. The center of it reads " JMc, 14. This is either the company seal or maybe an official indicator that it was calibrated. I can not find any detailed information about this scale. Some noticeable wear, but overall very nice. It does work.  Free shipping within the U.S.
