A very rare find. Antique iron horseshoe. It still has an old nail in it. This was for a large work horse. It is made specifically for ice and snow—7" long X 6 1/4" wide. There is a light covering of rust, but it should come off easily with a wire brush. This horseshoe may be wrought iron. I examined the horseshoe and read some more articles about wrought iron. I thought it might be wrought iron because of its irregularities. The nail holes are not the same shape/size and aren't exactly lined up with each other. There are also some irregularities in the overall shape. This is a well-used horseshoe.
