This is an authentic antique U.S. Army Military Unit Crest Pin. 1 1/4" long. It is copper with red and blue enamel. The pin-back fasteners are not original. "Robbins Co., Attleboro" is on the back. Robbins Co. was started in 1892 by Charles Robbins. It changed its name to Robbins Co. in 1912. I believe this pin was from the WWI era. The shield is in the shape of a 155 mm shell, which is symbolic of the old 68th Coast Artillery, a tractor-drawn seacoast regiment. The fleur-de-lis and service stripe indicates six months or more of service in France during WWI. The motto is Navajo. LOLAMY means Can Do. This unit served in the following campaigns: WWI, WWII - throughout many regions in France, Italy, and other parts of Europe. Korean War and several UN-organized campaigns. A rare pin to find from this era. Vintage WWI.
