A variety of vintage First Day of Issue Stamped and Postmarked envelopes. Art Craft created all of the original envelope's artwork.

 

1951 First Day of Issue, Commemorating 175th Anniversary Battle of Brooklyn. 4 - 3 cent stamps. They are dated Dec. 10, 1951, in Brooklyn, NY. The picture in the upper left corner is George Washington at the Battle of Brooklyn. The envelope is slightly yellowed. There are scuff marks from whatever it was stored amongst. No rips.

 

1967 First Day of Issue, 150th Anniversary Mississippi Statehood. Dated Dec. 11, 1967, Natches, MS. A Magnolia Bloom stamp, the state flower. The left upper corner picture is of the early state building and David Holmes, the first governor. A few smudges; they look like from the machine when the images were printed on.

 

1945, First Day of Issue. In Memoriam of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Three 1-cent Roosevelt stamps. Dated Jul 26, 1945, Hyde Park, NY. Left corner pictures, Library at Roosevelt's Hyde Park Estate. "All that is within me cries out to go back to my home on the Hudson." Paper yellowed.

 

1945, First Day Issue. In Memoriam of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. 1 three-cent stamp. Dated Jun 27, 1945, Washington, D.C. Left corner picture of Franklin Delano Roosevelt speaking in front of the major radio stations' microphones. Also, a silhouette of the White House. "I call for effort, courage, sacrifice, and devotion." Slightly yellowed paper. A few smudges.

 

1960, First Day Issue. 2 1/2 cent George Washington Stamped Envelope. An embossed 2 1/2 cent stamp and a 1 1/2 cent stamp. Dated May 28, 1960, Chicago, Il. The left side picture is of Chicago, Ill. They are slightly yellowing with some smudges on the back.

 

1982, First Day of Issue. Horatio Alger. Willow Grove, PA. Commemorating books by Horatio Alger. 20-cent stamp. Dated Apr 30, 1982. Very clean.

 

1971, First Day of Issue. Emily Dickinson. 1830-1886. American Poet. Amherst, MA. Aug. 28, 1971. 8-cent stamp. Clean.

 

1971, First Day of Issue. General Douglas MacArthur. Honoring the Supreme Commander Allied Forces Southwest Pacific Area. Norfolk, VA. Jan. 26, 1971. 6-cent stamp. Clean.

 

1985, First Day of Issue. In Memoriam of Ulysses S. Grant. April 27, 1822 - July 23, 1885. Three various civil war stamps and one United States flag stamp. Dated Shiloh, TN. Jul 23, 1985. One hundred years past the death of Grant.
