Two vintage thimbles.  Each one represents a merry-go-round.  The larger one, 1 1/4" tall, has a pewter "thimble" insert.  The horses are the typical style on many merry-go-rounds.  The shorter one is mounted on a  conventional type of thimble.  It is marked "SPAIN" inside the top of the thimble.  The merry-go-round has "working" style horses.  Both of the merry-go-rounds turn easily.  Both sold together.
