Whistler, famous for the portrait of his mother, was also renowned for his etchings. "Billingsgate" represents the artist at his finest. This reproduction was made by the Continental Lithograph Corporation, Cleveland, in 1937. Five hundred twenty-five proofs were made, of which this is number 205." The back paper has been partially removed from the frame, but it does not look like the print backing has ever been removed. Very nice.
